We started our weekend with Family Friday. I chose 4 movies from the Red Box (I can never just get one) - Annie, Big Hero 6, This is Where I Leave You and another that I can't remember the name of (oops). Annie was really good. The highlight for us was near the end where it gets really emotional - my middle son started to cry during the movie. He was so shocked that he was crying because of a movie that he ended up hysterically laughing because he just couldn't believe it was so sad and was making him cry. It was really funny and cute! I hope I never forget that!
I spent the weekend not only making memories with my own family but helping to make memories with my clients! I visited two of my regular clients, who have actually been working with me for the past couple of years. I met with them in their homes for sessions with their sweet babies and older siblings! I've been doing a lot of sessions in my home this year, so it was a nice change to visit them in theirs instead.
Finally the weather was wonderful - so another long term client family came to my property to visit for a maternity/family session. It was a beautiful day and I can't describe how good it felt to be outside taking pictures. The winter months wear on me, so the sunshine and fresh air truly made me feel alive!
My husband and I sporadically decided we would do some yard work. The results were beautiful, but man oh man did it wear my body down! It was a good reminder that I am so out of shape and need to be more physically active. How many of you can relate to that? I spend so much time when I'm not taking pictures sitting down in front of a computer.
I'm trying to host as many Sunday dinners as I can with my family. We held our first one the previous weekend and this past Sunday we decided we would do a just because spaghetti dinner. It was really great. I loved every single thing about. My great grandma (Granny) was there, my great aunt, my grandma, my pa, my mom and my dad. We all sat at the same table, we talked, we laughed, and after dinner we ate my grandma's homemade peach cobbler.
The only thing I realize now is that I should probably start to document those moments more. I don't want to get so caught up in taking pictures that I'm not 100% in the moment, but I want to have pictures from these days with my family too. No matter what, the memories are there, and I hope these are days that my kids will look back on as special too.
