3 Verses That Help Me Because I Struggle

February 06, 2016  •  1 Comment

Prayer, prayer worriers and the power of God’s Word have gotten me through the most difficult times in my life. During the times in my life when I didn’t turn to those things, my walk through Hell lasted longer. Today my life is great, I'm happy, I have so much to be thankful for, but that doesn’t mean I don’t struggle.

I struggle every day. And every day I have to work really hard at getting myself out of my own way in order to let God go to work. These three verses from the Bible help me.

  1. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

There are days I ask myself what I am really supposed to be doing with my life. Should it be this? Or is it supposed to be that? Am I stuck where I am? Or am I going further? What is in store for my future? What do I need to do to get there? Do you know what's wrong with those questions? It's the "I." With these questions, the I's have it! And that's not the way it's supposed to be. I need to move out of my way way and remember God has a plan for me. It has already take form. Things may not happen the moment I want them to happen, but they will in God's time. I need to practice patience and trust in God. He's got a plan for me. He has never let me down, and He never will.

Phillippians 4:19

My God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

I work a lot. A lot. And I need to work, but maybe just maybe I don't have to work as much as I do. My God provides for all of my needs. If I tried to list all of the times He has provided for me and my family in our time of need, for all of the prayers He has answered to meet our needs, then this post may never end. This verse reminds me of that and helps ease my anxiety because I can trust in my Lord.

Phillippians 4:6

Do not worry about anything. Instead pray about everything. Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.

I turned our closet into a war room. And I am learning how to let God fight for me when I need it. It's another reminder for me to get out of my own way. To give it to God. Because He will see me through it.
