(The key to this is that I truly don't want him to get old either!)

I recently watched a video about selfies. At first I was like GEEZ the dreaded selfie! But then my perception changed. Watch this video as young girls and their mothers get a new look at the selfie and a new look at themselves.

I definitely used to think that selfies were only for pretty girls. Selfies were just to get attention. Then I started to think about how many times a picture has been taken and I haven't been in it. When I'm old I want my kids to know what I look like now. And with my flaws and all, I hope that they will think I'm beautiful.

So in addition to this new perspective and these words from my son I am going take more pictures of myself and I hope that you too will do the same. Embrace the selfie!

Cayson said recently (out of the blue), “Oh mommy I don't want you to get old!”

I asked him why, and he said, “Because I want you to always look just like you look right now. I think you're beautiful.”

My boys and my husband tell me all the time that they think I am beautiful. Those are important words to hear, and those are really the only people that I need to hear it from. But I also need to document myself so that they always remember.
